About the Revolving Door
Confidence in government and particularly in government regulation is compromised whenever the independence of those making decisions, including those empowered to regulate, is called into question.
Despite the existence of ethics laws, codes and regulations, movements of personnel between the "private sector" (industry) and "government" raise concern in some quarters about potential conflicts of interest.
For years, this website has contained a pioneering database of information about people who have worked in both the public and the private sector. The information was gathered over a long period of time, contributed to by many friends, and considerably augmented by the researchers of the Public Information Network.
Our Revolving Door database was always a work-in-progress, neither comprehensive nor complete. Inclusion in the database was not meant to imply any impropriety. Lack of inclusion in the database implied nothing at all. Unfortunately, over time, much of the data became outdated and, we have learned, led people to make unwarranted conclusions. Thus, we have decided to remove the database from this site until such time as we can update and refine it.
