Served as legislative assistant to U.S. Rep. Sam Johnson (R-Texas) (1992-94).
In the late 1990s she was director of congressional affairs at the lobbying firm Parry, Romani, and DeConcini and was a registered lobbyist for Abbott, American Home Products, Bristol- Myers Squibb, Hoechst Marion Roussel, Interneuron Pharmaceuticals, Metagenics, Monsanto, Pfizer, Pharmacia & Upjohn, Schering-Plough, and SmithKline Beecham.
