Manning, Meredith

Was associate chief counsel in the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Later, was assistant attorney at the U.S. Attorney's Office in the District of Columbia.

In U.S. Attorney's Office and FDA, was assigned to cases related to "approval of orphan drugs, biological products and generic drugs, as well as FDA's policy on genetically modified food and the confidentiality of scientific data submitted to FDA."

As of 2005 she was a partner at the Hogan & Hartson law firm where she counsels drug and biotechnology clients concerning "enforcement matters threatened or brought by the FDA and other regulatory bodies, including issues surrounding advertising and promotion of prescription drugs. This includes counseling companies about anticipated enforcement, responding to FDA inspectional observations and Warning Letters, and negotiating Consents Decrees with the FDA and the U.S. Department of Justice."
