Served the George Bush for President Campaign as the executive director in Maryland for the primary and general election campaigns (1987-88).
Served as Associate Director in the U.S. White House Office of National Service where he was responsible for presidential awards and recognition for community service and was Director of the White House Staff Volunteer Initiative (1988-?).
Ran unsuccessfully for U.S. Congress in Maryland's first Congressional District (1990).
