Was lead counsel for the EU's negotiation of the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety, and for its precautionary principle communication published in 2000.

As of 2005 led the food and drug practice in the Brussels office of the Sidley Austin Brown & Wood law firm, advising clients on food, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, chemicals and the environment. (2)
